What to expect at your first (non-emergency) dental visit
Should you elect to choose Dr. Kaes as your dentist we will perform a comprehensive examination that will include a review of your medical history, a review of your dental history, necessary radiographs, an oral cancer examination, periodontal examination, and occlusion and TMJ (jaw joint) evaluation. The examination includes the use of an intra-oral camera so you can see exactly what your needs are. This visit often takes 60-90 minutes and does not include a cleaning. Dr. Kaes has long ago abandoned the concept of glancing at new patients after a cleaning and trying to do all of the above in only 5 minutes.
For us to provide the highest quality of care, it is important for us to understand your medical history and any special needs you may have. Upon your first visit you will be asked to complete a medical history including any medications that you are currently taking, and dosages and the dates and types of surgeries or other procedures you may have had.
